ACT 2: Advanced Crisis Trauma Skills Refresher

ACT 2 is a two-day refresher for graduates of Guardian's ACT or Critical Incident Response Course (CIRC). It is built around repetition, coaching, and more complex scenarios—not around collecting another badge or simply moving to the “next level.”

If your ACT or CIRC skills have not been practiced recently, ACT 2 provides a structured opportunity to revisit them, identify weak points, and work through harder decisions under time pressure.

What you will revisit

• Rapid trauma assessment
• Advanced hemorrhage control
• Airway and respiratory management
• Chest injury interventions
• Shock recognition and treatment
• Casualty movement and evacuation considerations
• Communication and decision-making during complex scenarios

Course format

Students work with bleeding simulators, trauma moulage, medical equipment, and scenario-based exercises. Instructors provide direct feedback on technique, priorities, and communication throughout the course.

Who should take ACT 2?

ACT 2 is intended for ACT or CIRC graduates who want additional repetitions and more challenging scenarios. If you are still actively working through the fundamentals from your first course, there is no need to rush into ACT 2.

Skills fade without practice. ACT 2 exists to give students a place to practice again, receive feedback, and identify what deserves more work.
