Why ACT 2 Matters
Skills fade without practice. ACT 2 ensures you remain ready to act—with speed, clarity, and confidence—when every second counts. It’s not just a refresher. It’s maintenance for lifesavers.
Location, Logistics, and Accommodations
ACT 2 is conducted at the following training location:
4350 East FM 1961
Goliad, Texas
Registered students will receive detailed arrival instructions, parking information, daily schedules, and site-specific guidance prior to the course.
Meals are provided during the course.
On-site accommodations are available in a communal bunk-style sleeping area. Students planning to stay on-site should bring a sleeping bag and any additional personal items needed for an overnight stay (pillow, toiletries, towel, ear protection, etc.). Space is limited and provided on a first-come basis unless otherwise specified.
Students who prefer private lodging are responsible for making their own off-site arrangements. A list of nearby hotel options will be provided upon registration.
Optional Night Training Session
For students interested, an optional evening training session will be available to review and practice low-light trauma skills. This session focuses on assessment, treatment, and problem-solving under reduced visibility conditions and is designed to reinforce decision-making and technical proficiency in environments commonly encountered during real-world incidents.
Students are welcome and encouraged to bring any night vision devices or low-light optics they currently field or anticipate fielding during real-world operations. This allows participants to evaluate equipment performance, integration, and workflow while performing medical tasks under reduced visibility.
Participation is optional and intended for students who wish to extend their training day and gain additional repetitions in a low-light setting.
Training in Your Real-World Loadout
Students are highly encouraged to bring their own medical kits and train in the gear, clothing, uniform, loadout, or everyday carry (EDC) they actually use. Running skills in your real-world configuration helps identify equipment placement issues, access challenges, and workflow inefficiencies before they matter.
While training kits are provided, using your personal equipment allows you to validate setup, improve familiarity, and build confidence in the tools you are most likely to rely on.
Live Tissue Training Disclosure
One training day includes live tissue skills training , conducted under direct instructor supervision and in accordance with applicable ethical, safety, and animal welfare standards. This training provides unmatched realism for hemorrhage control, airway management, and advanced trauma interventions that cannot be fully replicated with simulators alone.
Participation in live tissue training is voluntary. Students who choose not to participate will be provided alternative training using high-fidelity simulators to ensure continued skill development.
This component is disclosed in advance to allow students to make fully informed participation decisions.
